Religion As Justification to Abuse Women

 Justification to Abuse Women?

I will strip her naked and expose her as in the day she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and turn her into a parched land and kill her with thirst.  Upon her children also I will have no pity, because they are children of whoredom.  No one shall rescue her out of my hand.
Hosea 2:3-4; 10b

Woman  Abused

  1. After reading your post, I proceeded to read Hosea for the very first time. There is an interesting use of literary devices, such as, metaphor and paradigm. The relationship between the LORD and Israel can be reflected in Hosea’s personal life. Literally, Gomer is being labeled “a wife of whoredom”. It is a one-dimensional description of her. Unfairly, the reader is not provided with any meaningful details about this woman’s life circumstances. The video was heartbreaking and very difficult to watch. I strongly believe that the abuse of women cannot and should not be justified for any reason.

  2. Than you for your comment. Yes watching the video is heartbreaking and sickening. I wonder if the young woman in the video was thought of as a whore by her family?
